154612 2003-06-24 02:22:00 I’ve got this AcerView 76i Monitor that was given to me as being shot.

However, after re-soldering a couple of dry joints, and making the appropriate adjustments as set out by Billy T, godfather and others on this forum it’s working almost 100%.

I guess I’m being a bit pedantic, but I can’t get rid of a small bow in the bottom edge, about 1mm, up in the middle or down in the corners. Top and sides spot on.

Any suggestions anyone? (Would I be looking for one of those stick on magnetic strips?)

Cheers

Bob

154613 2003-06-24 03:13:00 Get some black insulating tape. Put a band across the top and botton of the screen and tell people that it's a new widescreen monitor. :D Graham L (2)

154615 2003-06-24 05:27:00 I think you may have to live with it. Magnetic strip will distort colours. Pheonix (280)
154616 2003-06-24 09:25:00 There might be two adjustments here,

(1) One adjustment to lower the middle of the top & bottom horzontal ½ way so the top and bottom is symectrical
(2) Then another adjustment to make the middle of the top go up and the middle of the bottom go down.

154617 2003-06-24 12:09:00 Hmmmm been through the menu and you can do all the tricks with the sides but zip top and bottom.

Come to think of it even back in the 60’s pincushion magnets only adjusted the sides.

Now, why the hell was that? Hmmmm again, I’ll pull out my old book “Grobb on Television” interesting how some things never change despite politics.

Thanks Phoenix, I wondered about the colours. I caused myself a mischief recently with my magnetic tipped screwdriver.

And yes E.ric I believe some of the new monitors can adjust top and bottom but I’m lost for how.

Someone tell me ohms law still exists. :p
