154503 2003-06-23 12:14:00 Does the video clip start to play at all?

if not it may be a missing codec.

154505 2003-06-23 12:21:00 Try this, (im not on a windows machine at moment so instruction may be a little wrong)
right click on the executable file of descent freespace, and go to properties. There are a heap of tabs. There is a tab to turn off all the special feature when running the program e.g. alt-tab etc, turn these all off. Also a tab about memory, select the protected memory checkbox(might be a drop down menu).
Generally have a play round with these settings. Sorry so vague, haven't used windows in a while.
