| 154530 | 2003-06-24 09:48:00 | fixexd PcCo link here (www.thepccompany.co.nz) it depends on the recovery disk setup. some are keyed to certain hardware. some will not let you do a custom install, it all depends on how the recovery disk is setup. best idea is to simply ask PcCo. |

I will say their phone registration did not work and had to use their 0800 number. All other registrations worked well (Web based). It came with a recovery CD and the WinXP CD. | 154538 | 2003-06-24 20:58:00 | Wrongo pal. Give it a try, and see if you can get your hands on one of the CD's, and try doing an install onto any PC. You won't of course be able to activate the product, but you will be able to install it. The reason most users of PCCO PC's don't have to activate is because of SLP, where a string in the BIOS has a special code that tells Win XP that it is an OEM PC. You can use the CD on any other PC, in the same way as a normal win XP cd. In fact, I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. If you tell me where to send it, I can lend you my CD (as long as you promise to send it back) and you can see for yourself, instead of relying on rumor, opinion and heresay. Perhaps after actualy trying it for yourself, you can try baseing your posts on facts, instead of nonsense...you know, like the folks who purpetuate the crap about coka cola dissolving a 5 cent piece overnight...actually give it a try, instead of just assuming that it's true. You will find that you will have a wet 5 cent piece in the morning. |
