155116 2003-06-25 21:20:00 First what is pilot tools? Its just that they appear to be missing on my system, as evolution comes up with silly errors to that effect when i try to play with the pilot settings.

Secondly one small glitch, I canno open the links in my email, it would appear that evolution does not know to open them in any browser. Instead i must manually copy the links into a web browser.

155117 2003-06-25 21:27:00 Forgive my incompletness

I'm running SuSE8.0, and KDE 3.0.0 on a rather old beast called Sam.

For use with a palm pilot at a guess.

Ok.. Seems logical, now what about educating it to open a link in a browser?

155120 2003-06-26 04:11:00 Sounds like you are running a rather old version of Evolution (1.4 has just been release this month). Maybe you could try upgrading it? Afaik, it will use the browser that you have specified as default in GNOME. segfault (655)

Yes, i am using an older version of evolution. I went to the ximian website to see about a new one, downloaded the installer (all VERY swish it was too!) and began, it then reminded me that it wouldn't install in anything older than SuSE 8.2 :( so i got the patches that i could from SuSE, which made the contact list work, but that was as updated as it would get short of upgrading my whole system to SuSE8.2, which quite frankly i can't be bothered doing.

Hmmm of i go to see about the GNOME associations. Oddly although i installed GNOME into my system a few days ago, it doesn't apear as a start option (yet) one hopes the config file is easy to find and edit! As obvious, i am running evolution under KDE.

155122 2003-06-26 06:31:00 well this file, ~/.gnome/gnome

[URL Handlers]
default-show=gnome-moz-remote --newwin "%s"
info-show=gnome-help-browser "%s"
man-show=gnome-help-browser "%s"
ghelp-show=gnome-help-browser "%s"

has now been changed to this:

[URL Handlers]
default-show=opera --newwin "%s"
info-show=gnome-help-browser "%s"
man-show=gnome-help-browser "%s"
ghelp-show=gnome-help-browser "%s"

and opera now opens should i click on a link.
Nice!

Thanx
