155685 2003-06-28 01:17:00 Hi folks.
I have Acrobat Reader 5.1 installed and when checking to see if there was a later version I found and downloaded Adobe Reader 6.

My question is there any difference between an Acrobat Reader and an Adobe Reader. If not I presume I could delete Acrobat Reader 5.1 from my system.

Thanks Smithie

155690 2003-06-28 04:23:00 I would suggest you Un-install Acrobat Reader 5.x first, as uninstalling it later can cause issues, meaning you need to run repair on Acrobat Reader 6 :-)

And yes.. It is easily removed Via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel!

155692 2003-06-28 04:53:00 Hi all

Thanks for the replies.
To C_S thanks for the tip. I downloaded V6 last night and did not uninstal V5.1 first, and that was my problem. Your advice was noted and I unistalled everything and started again. Hey presto I can again read PDF files.
To Stu your apology accepted. I couldnt understand why you originally replied like that as you are normally most helpful with your responses. Keep up the good work mate. :)
