155651 2003-06-27 10:31:00 hello after a few minutes from when i turn my pc on notepad comes up and says cant find "c:/programfiles/noshow" does anybody no how i can get rid of this cause it is really anoying and it adds minutes onto my start up time of my pc

I think it might be a virus or ad-aware or something like that.

Run a viruses checker over your pc & see if it is.
Also run ad-Aware & /or Spybot

Hope this helps also post back here is that does not help.

ALL OTHER HITS REFERRED TO THE SAME THING

It appears to be a system utility that startups up on bootup check msconfig startup tab for references to it uncheck it, if found or look in the startup folder (start...programs....startup). Also I would consider stu's recommendation, after all there are some programs and other things, that are not what at first they seem to be

155657 2003-06-27 15:46:00 beama thanks for the idea but ill think ill just try stus idea of the virus checker thing as that would most likly be the problem as i have never checked for viruses in the 6 years that i have hade this pc

155658 2003-06-27 22:41:00 Free antivirus called AVG from here (www.grisoft.com 835) and Spybot (also free) from here (download.com.com). It is essential that you use the update facilities on these programs regularly or you might as well not have them. Only have to run spybot about once a week to a month, depending on how much you surf the net. Pheonix (280)
