155875 2003-06-28 10:14:00 Hi, I just signed up for telecoms jetstart service with orcon at about 7.30 today evening. I was just wondering how long it would taake to get my connection up and running? (i never had broadband before) static (4108)
155876 2003-06-28 10:20:00 Well make sure you ring up the people at Telecom JetStream (not your isp) and ask when they will enable the service on the exchange for you. Usually they have to book a time for someone to go out to the exchange and do it. :) PoWa (203)

155879 2003-06-28 11:13:00 I have just connected to Jetstart as well. Telecom has about 7 days waiting list to connect you.
Meanwhile, Fit filters to all the phone sockets.
Buy & set up a Modem or Router.
I am using a D-Link DSL-200 ADSL USB Modem & have no problems with it.

Except, of course, the phone socket that has the modem/router going into it.

155881 2003-06-29 09:44:00 Yes, my whole house is wired up ( filters) and my dsl modem is connected and drivers and stuff installed ( i got that from dicksmith electronics). My friend told me that his account was set up in two days so thats why i was wondering how long this thing would take ( i'm downloading a game demo from gigex.com and its a hundred and something mbs big, so i was hoping that by getting jetstart the download would quicken up. :) Being on the 56k end really bites.) static (4108)
