155796 2003-06-28 06:12:00 I am looking for some software where I can program some keys on a standard keyboard to macros, eg. the F keys to commonly used terms in chatrooms and stuff like that.
I am running windows 98se

cheers, john

155797 2003-06-28 08:15:00 Hi there

I use Keyboard Express, which lets you assign any key to a macro, which may consist of words or commands. Handy in chat rooms for saying an often repeated phrase, or automating kicks, bans etc. I have programmed F1 to F12 and ALT + A - Z to carry out different functions as an example.

The home page is:

The version I use is free, KeyBoard Express 2000 Vers. 2.7b. Unfortunately, they started charging for it soon after. You may be able to find it for download using Google, however if you can't and are interessted I could upload it to my Orcon site and post the link to download (500kb zipped).

155798 2003-06-29 02:50:00 I wonder if ANSI.SYS is still included with the "old" DOS stuff, and if loaded in CONFIG.SYS would still modify the keyboard for W98. B-) It's a lot less than 500k. :D Graham L (2)
