| 156093 | 2003-06-29 05:25:00 | I use a old DOS drawing package (which has no manufacturer support now) but has print drivers for HP Laserjet Plus, HP Quitejet Plus, HP Thinkjet, Epson MX/FX 8 , Epson LQ 13.6 also Plotter HP-GL (one pen). I could use these drivers to print to a device or a file eg *.scp I now have a new HP Pavilion 564a PC using Windows XP and a printer HP 810 all the printer will do is print rows of numbers. Is there any converter file that I could use to enable me to print out the drawings on a modern inkjet printer through windows or what printer could I use. |

On the link you use to start it right click it and on the Compatability page try making it compatable with Win95 ( I think that is as low as it goes). Other than that there are many drawing packeges that you could pick up for next to nothing. Have a look on some of the cover disks. |

I can connect my printer to parl port or USB. I used to print to a dot m printer Panasonic KXP1180 but now dead. I had hoped to print to a file and the convert it to drive a printer under windows Regards dfroy | dfroy (4117) | ||

| 156101 | 2003-07-01 03:57:00 | Even the modern HP printers should recognise HPGL. I'm pretty sure it's still part of the HP PCL. (There might be a problem in that you will have the uncompressed HPGL, but give it a try.) Otherwise, print to a file as an HPLJ--- that should work. IMPORTANT: instead of "printing" the file to the printer, copy it. Once a printer file has been produced, it isn't meant to be a "printable" (or human-readable --except HPGL) one ... it's designed for the printer to have it sent down the wire. So do a "copy /b print.scp LPT1:". |
