156103 2003-06-29 06:00:00 Hi F1
I have installed yoper on a PC and my network card is not detected
I assume this because in the system window - it is not shown as a PCI device
Do you know if there is something like an add new hardware wizard
I have not clicked the links on grahamls faqs yet as I will probably just try a different nic to see if that works first

156104 2003-06-30 05:19:00 There isn't an install new hardware wizard. :D If the system can detect a card it can usually handle it. Kudzu is the nearest to a P&P, and I have usually disabled it. You may find that an "odd" distribution won't find some hardware, because the people who built it didn't have enough experience. (It's a fact that there is a lot of old hardware around which will run Linux very well. It pays to include provision for it in an installation kernel). There's not much anyone can do about "new" hardware. :D

Check the Hardware-HOWTO. The card might be one of the odd ones which for some reason has never had a packet driver written for it.
