2013-05-16 22:17:00 | Well, when I tried to delete it, got the message that if deleted it might interfere with the operating system ! Sounds a bad idea This is what its about. (.shellclassinfo) Locausedresourcename=@%systemroot%\system32\shell3 2.dll,-2769 Iconresource=&systemroot\systemroot%\system3imageres,-183 Hope I have copied everything right. What should I do, don't really want it sitting on the desktop though.

2013-05-16 22:50:00 | I would run a Hijack this and copy paste the results here and see if Speedy will look through it for you | gary67 (56) | |
2013-05-16 23:04:00 | +1 to running Hijack this sourceforge.net The software may indicate "System Imager". Of course a hacker can choose any filename to hide their activity. http://systemimager.sourceforge.net/

2013-05-17 03:37:00 | Well, thanks for the replies. DL HijackThis and ran it. However when I tried to use the "Analyise This" button it remains grayed out and cannot be used. Is there another program I can use to achieve the same results ?

2013-05-17 03:54:00 | Don't worry about the "Analyise This" button .... do a system scan with HJT > select all text in the scan window > copy all text > paste into "Reply to this thread" on here. | SP8's (9836) | |

Somefink's not right ! I reopened Hijack This and was promptly told that I have no internet access - but that ain't so, as mail etc all works fine on this computer. But I consistently get the same message - no internet ! Well I'm not getting very far and I cannot do a scan, as internet is supposedly down and the scan does not work ! Is there not another program I can use to solve this matter ? |

2013-05-17 05:20:00 | I think they're desktop.ini files. They'll appear on the desktop, if you've ticked hide protected operating system files. Under folder options. Untick it, they should go off the desktop I just tried it in Win8, And this is whats in one of the files (ini file) [.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell 32.dll,-21769 IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-183
