| 1316152 | 2012-12-03 04:55:00 | Samsung is blowing all the companies away in advertising and marketing. Have a look at the graph here. (www.businessinsider.com) A friend of mine who is a 100% Apple devotee sent me this marketing graph with the comment: This can only mean they have to advertise like crazy to retain customers. Response anyone? :D |

Back to the OP, Samsung is a huge company, what's that marketing for? I mean other than phones they sell fridges, laptops washing machines etc . . . thats a big budget and it makes sense given their market range . As for your friend, if they advertise like crazy to retain customers then it must be working, if it wasn't then they'd be all going elsewhere . |

True, Samsung seem to be more hardware based and generate business by a more traditional approach even with their mobiles with market segments (and advertising) from cheap to premium products worldwide. Apple is more a platform with it's hardware control, digital services, retail stores/network, in the US. Samsung however relies on Android and has to wait for Google - another platform business to develop it. Though it's rumuored that Samsung may become more platform based itself by adopting the Tizen open source smartphone software. |
