1340658 2013-05-11 23:29:00 I've always been puzzled how these power line ethernet connections can work effectively without gross attenuation when there are numerous connections at sockets in house wiring, and wiring runs from the main board to different sockets, causing sudden impedance changes and reflections.

Makes you wonder if any old wire/flex jointed in any old way would do for connecting up routers etc :)

1340660 2013-05-14 13:01:00 The power pass-through would probably be cheaper, but you should be able to replace your single-socket power points with doubles, as modern ones will fit into a single-size flush box (it might depend on the age and style of the existing ones). This would give you 2 individual switched sockets at each point which may have advantages for other purposes. The new points would presumably not "match original" though. Robin S_ (86)
