1316274 2012-12-04 22:32:00 Why not blame Paula Bennet the social welfare department has made some amazing blunders under her stewardship, in the words of Prefect she should be shot
No she should be complimented for having a hospital pass portfolio and doing a good job as with it. I like her although a bit fat for my liking I still reckon she would be a hot in the sack, good Westi chick.
Hope she gets put up for a damehood her and the education minister, both doing a great job.

1316275 2012-12-04 23:05:00 Does this not just show how hopeless it is here? Even the Government has given up on their hollow promises?

Heres a great opportunity in a new growth industry, created by our great Government.

I think it’s fair to say than when the annual Consultancy Fees exceed the annual combined salaries of our 121 MP’s we have a problem.

Clearly we don’t need the MP’s. :D

1316277 2012-12-05 00:10:00 Meh, they *were* directly employed under the Labour Govt, now they're simply "Consultants".... If they're sucking $150 a week in benefit payments, then it's only 10 weeks worth of payments to "break even" vs the cost of a $1500 "Piss off to australia and bludgeon off them" ticket.

Do I agree with it? Not really. Is it the end of the world? Not really. Cost effective? Probably :D

Might pay to clarify one point Chill.

They won’t be bludging on the Aussies because a Kiwi has no chance of the Dole over there. Many a Kiwi has thought that the “Aussie Dole” and “Bondi Beach” was a great lifestyle only to have their dreams wrecked first trip to CenterLink. :D

1316279 2012-12-05 00:51:00 The type of work these travellers hoped to find in Aus will be of interest. Maybe they were potential Hookers and Gigolos. ;)

Typical assumptions on who went.
Perhaps they were miners??? You know, there are a few who lost their jobs here a short time ago, including some who had emigrated here, and were being kicked out for not being employed.
So what do they do?

There are a lot of people going to Aussie, good on the unemployed for doing so too.

And yes, they wouldn't get the dole there, so it shows they are seriously looking for work, a lot of people are.

1316280 2012-12-05 01:05:00 Meh why not look for work locally? It's certainly here! Or take up the real Kiwi spirit and start your own business :) Chilling_Silence (9)

You’re on the money there Chill.

Because if you can’t “Hack It” in NZ then you haven’t got a snowballs chance in Hell of “Hacking It” in Aus. Conversely, if you can “Hack It” in NZ, you have a very good chance of “Hacking It” in Aus and filling your pockets along the way. ;)

1316282 2012-12-05 04:45:00 Funny Adern complaining when there were six cases last year and 16 in 2007:rolleyes: when Labor were in Govt. They are all the same in opposition. Arnie (6624)
1316283 2012-12-05 07:09:00 It is an interesting discussion this. In fact I agree that travel overseas should not be paid for someone to get a job. I have never have supported it at work. However some of my colleagues do not see the ethical issues with that - we're not a bank. That said, seems grandiose from Adern to do a little "Peters" when in 9 years they supported all sorts of mindless things out there ; ) Sanco (683)
