| 156628 | 2003-07-01 10:14:00 | Seriously, any small gain you would get before the increase in clock speed would begin to cause instability and shorten cpu life, may hardly be noticeable in terms of speed up of programs and data handling. If you have a spare cpu then it you could have a go, but if you havent and the cpu goes phut, then getting another cpu of the same spec could be difficult. |

| 156630 | 2003-07-02 01:09:00 | Between 50Mhz ~ 150MHz gain as it depends on other factors such as motherboard, psu, hsf...etc. It's a personal thing. Some likes it and some don't. As many people have said before, OC will damage your CPU, shorthen it's life span, cause unstability...etc. So when you OC you must take all those things in to account. Although none of them has ever happened to me yet (touch wood) :p To me, OC is worthwhile, I mean where can you get the performance of a P4 3.5Ghz at a P4 2.6Ghz price? Wait on... even if you are willing to pay, there is no P4 3.5Ghz ;) |
