| 156564 | 2003-07-01 03:24:00 | Sorry, this is not a new topic but, possibly a different twist. I have installed the Win98se shutdown patch; I have dis-enabled most background programs: only Explorer, Poproxy, NAVAPW32, SYSTRAY & Rnaapp remain running & yet I still hang on the shut down Windows 98 window. Any further suggestions of how to achieve a normal shut down? | NZHawk (4093) | ||
| 156565 | 2003-07-01 05:49:00 | I had same problem a while back, just couldn't shut computer no matter what I tried. It turned out that to be Microsoft's Still Images Devices Monitor (stimon). Disabling it (msconfig) solved the problem. Not sure if that will help you, but worth a try. Cheers Lucy |
