156931 2003-07-02 06:41:00 hey there,
I'm wondering what to do when I get the error message saying that my video card doesn't support an application, probably because of my computers age. Do I need to go and buy a new one and if so what would anyone out there recommend as the best for money?

156932 2003-07-02 06:49:00 Hi bigd

We need some further information. :)

- What Operating System are you using eg Windows 98SE
- What type of video card
- What sort of application is giving this message and what were you doing at the time this message was shown
- What are the general specifications of your PC

Thanks
Jen

It was actually trying to play the trial version of Rise of Nations that came with the PC World CD but I have been meaning to update my graphics/video card for a while. 156934 2003-07-02 08:34:00 u got this month's pcworld disc rite? if u do then downlaod a program from it called Aida32, it is a benchmarking program that lists the details of most of the components of ur computer, e.g. videocard, hdd, screen size .etc. Then it will also tell u if the drivers for ur videocard are uptodate. do u know wot the ram is for? is it the RAM available to the computer or the ram available on the video card? And how old would ur pc be by now? so we can guess wot kind of video card u have and if it can handle the game demo.

cheers,
v.K
