| 156864 | 2003-07-02 05:56:00 | Ive just got a new hard drive and I am toying with installing XP and Linux - I currently have ME. Whats the best way to do this? Do all O/S's need to be on the same disk, and does this disk need to be on the primary channel or can I install the new HD on secondary and use Partition Magic to boot the new O/S? Graham Petrie has a good FAQ on multi-booting but not sure on the hardware side what I should do. Thanks. |

Then, Install Linux on another partition, as its boot loader will over-write the Windows XP one (Unless you're booting between WinME and XP, then it'll give you the choice of OS still.) The OS's can be on any mix of HDD's, master or slave! Hope this helps Chill. |
