| 156890 | 2003-07-03 03:58:00 | The Samari is just a computer assembled by Dick Smith and designated the Samari,I presume that the specs change due to the availbilty and price of parts. Here's the system dubbed the Samari on their webpage. www.dse.co.nz |

| 156891 | 2003-07-03 04:51:00 | Yep. It was the Samuri I looked at too. Just a bit muddled in their specs. Probably haven't changed everything in specs when they have changed to a diff board. IMHO the one with the Asus motherboard would be a better version than the MSI one although there's nothing wrong with MSI, I just prefer Asus, The have a reputation for good quality and stability. I've had no problems with my A7N266-VM based machine BTW, but more than likely someone will back the MSI just as strongley Cheers Murray P |

| 156892 | 2003-07-03 06:01:00 | Over the last two weeks I have built three systems using the Asus A7N266-VM board. I usually make high end computers but I have had no problems from customers using the Asus board. I like motherboards supplied by Asus, Soltek and Gigabyte and those are the three manufacturers I stick with. I have never had to send one back for warranty which speaks for itself I guess. |

Sorry for the length of the post but in this case I just had to do it. If those are the specs then it will be OVERKILL for your BUSINESS as I understand it. Seems like a reasonable deal for the price but if you only want something to run Phone software like Callista, Email, Fax etc then go to a local Hardware vendor like PBTech in Penrose and ask their advice. | 156895 | 2003-07-03 12:01:00 | thanks elephant, i was starting to get that idea myself as it has more GB than mine which would be a niggle for me as id want that one .....LOL oh and where do you think i live? and who is PB tech ? im not from auckland we want something off the shelf and ready to work, i know it does not need so much grunt but its difficult to find something else suitable here when we want local back up if possible. and something already 95 / 98 installed and xp removed if possible so i dont have to do it ? wouldnt know how any way. this was just a suggestion, i did not get this info or puter idea myself but hubby rushed in and saw a chance, of being able to look when free from work.....but he admits he knows nothing about computers so was lead by the salesman. i am awaiting some more details from callista about package deals of computer and callista prog just started recently ( not aware of this when callista was installed on our machine) so im know furthor ahead. and in regards of computer problems mine does not seems to be sorted on either front work or private so its not a good open liner of conversation round here at moment. but at the moment i would take anything that would do the job as it cant be any worse than none. time for bed i think, im getting critical or synical? not a good beetle state. thanxs for all input will keep you posted if youre interested. beetle |

Do you want to give my some idea of where you are? A district would be good like Bay of Plenty, Southland, Wellington etc. Best answer is to find someone local and whom you can trust. Make sure that firm has been in business a few years. |
