156878 2003-07-02 08:40:00 yes thank you godfather, could be partly they dont know what callista is and also as my husband is computer illeterate have know idea actually what he has said to them or why he even went hunting when he does not know what he needs or has been recomended.LOL

seems i always like to have your input before i believe somthing or to understand something, just in case i foul it up really bad.
as i have been put wrong in the past (not by PF1 people) and computer logic or language is not my strong point.
not saying the others arnt helpful but sometimes you explain it better and then i may actually understand it.

156879 2003-07-02 09:14:00 Hi Beetle

If you are considering getting this PC, I would keep it for your personal computer and put Calista on your current computer instead. The specifications are more than likely better than your current system - especially the combo CD-DVD drive and the large 60 gig 7200 rpm hard drive.

You can then buy Windows 98 to load onto the old PC to run Calista with, and put your Microsoft Works you currently own, onto the new computer (if you don't want to use Open Office).

Another option.

Of course, bit of a bummer then. :).

156882 2003-07-02 10:53:00 As B Mason said, although the reccommended minimum RAM that Windows XP requires is said to be 128MB, and 256MB to be adequate, 512MB is really what makes the difference. It'll also last you longer into the future... even if your computer will be worth only $1000 by the end of next year. agent (30)
156883 2003-07-02 10:57:00 Agent, the point here is, this PC is for a stand-alone telephone call logging application only (Callista), and not for "general PC use".

The extra 256 would be fine but would not really be needed in this case.

156884 2003-07-02 11:39:00 so it would seem im either under done as in the first computer that died or im overdone as in the specs of this one that weve been recomended.

thanxs people

156885 2003-07-02 11:48:00 well,The system your looking at will easily handle the task you want it for.

Sounds like a win to me.

Plus the fact that you cant really buy brand new computers with much lower specs then that system anyway.
