| 157038 | 2003-07-02 21:58:00 | hi there, i recently got rid of a virus (worm/spybot) from my system. AVG picked it up & delt with it fine. The problem is that now AVG is saying it has detected a virus in system Volume information_restore & to run a scan. It comes up with nothing but keeps informing me of a virus. How do i get rid of this message? (I've reinstalled AVG but this didnt work) I suspect my system restore will be diabled untill i fix this. Cheers |

AVG will not be able to cleanse the Restore files as they are "protected" If you disable System Restore, and reboot, all the old restore files will be purged. The re-enable System Restore and all will be well. You wouldn't want to restore the PC to the virused condition anyway, so you are not losing a valuable restore point. |
