Ive just set up a dual boot with Xp Pro and Linux Redhat...
Oh... buy the way i am new... very new to linux...

The modem in my system is a lucent win modem...
And linux wont reconise it...

So i guess my question is... how do i make linux find my modem...

Help...

P.S. setting up dual boot was so easy it not funny... for all you other newbies out there... dont be scared....

157332 2003-07-04 02:55:00 You will need to download the driver for it. I've never setup a lucent so I don't have anything specific.

157333 2003-07-04 05:54:00 Welcome to the linux/winmodem lottery ;) Hopefully the links above will help you. Linux is easiest to setup with "proper" modems but more and more winmodems are being supported (I have 2 modems used by Linux... they are both 100% modem i.e. they are not winmodems)

157335 2003-07-04 09:31:00 I'd recommend you go buy the latest PCW, Geoff wrote an excellent article on WinModems in Linux, and there's a utility on the CD to Identify your modem in Linux, so you can download the right driver.. From there on in, his column will help you :-)

And yes, Especially in RedHat.. The BootLoader is very pretty.. the mandrake one's just butt ugly compared to it!
