| 157311 | 2003-07-04 00:36:00 | Hi everyone. I am experiencing a conundrum that I hope someone can shed some light on! At the root of my C:\ drive I am seeing 3 directories (for now) named dir00, dir01 & dir03 (who knows where dir02 went). These contain a variety of folders eg: dir10, dir11, dir12. This carries down for about 4 levels and in the final folder there is a file named file36 or some other equally enigmatic name! These files have no extension. If I delete the dirs, they will reappear at the next login and multiply while I am not watching. I am running XP SP1. I have recently installed Nortons 2002 and have only noticed this occurring since that event. Something of this nature would normally suggest viral or trojan activity but a scan shows nada! Please help! |
