157173 2003-07-03 05:38:00 this was suposed to be something i need to do by next friday, but 10 mins ago, i got told it is need by 7pm friday night...TOMMORROW....

my m8 made a music cd, but had alot of background noises (didnt realise it till after cd was made)....and she wants to re-sing the song....but keep the music on it...
how can i remove the vocals and background noises but keep the music?

what programs can i use? and where can i get it from (wat websites)

hope someone can help me real soon :-)

157174 2003-07-03 10:32:00 You might want to try "Cool Edit" It has various filters that lets you muck about with an audio track. I can't advise on how to use it and it is a shareware programme. There were copies of it on some previous PC world CD's, otherwise try a "Cool Edit" search on Google. Good Luck sinndisco (4059)
157175 2003-07-03 11:26:00 Nothing will "cleanly" remove it however, as it doesnt exist (usually) as a separate and distinct "track"

Its just part of the complex audio signal. Its like trying to remove the sound of one instrument in an orchestra. Its "possible" when the signal you want to remove occupies a different part of the frequency spectrum to the rest. Like a violin and a bass drum.

Given your hearing impediment Chris, it may be a challenge.
