157089 2003-07-03 01:17:00 I was wondering the other day, pondering some things I had read about people installing Linux on their XBox. How feasible would it be to install on an Xbox running Linux or some other OS, a PS2 emulator, to run PS2 games on the Xbox? I imagine there are compatibility issues, however, like finding a PS2 emulator for the OS, and so on. Anyone got anything to say on this? Lizard (2409)
157090 2003-07-03 01:28:00 You can also run Win98 on an X-Box...

A few things come to mind here...

Emulators are mainly for Win32 OS's, Win98 included.

Now, a few things come to mind here:

Linux, would run fine, but if you dont have a Linux emulator, you'd then want to have WineX, as I have run a Gameboy Emulator under it (No$GMB) and that worked, so I was running RedHat 9, emulating Doze, Emulating a gameboy.

Next, you'd need your X-Box Modded

And lastly is the legality of the the ROM's/Emulators, which I wont delve into, but will say that there will likely be a performance hit when emulating apps on the X-Box.

Hope this helps

157093 2003-07-03 01:38:00 Err.. But havent they already done that? (Released how to install Linux on the X-Box without modding it)
Its got to do with the 007 Game and how it saves... There's a hole in it somewhere from what I remember reading!?!

157094 2003-07-03 04:35:00 I thought the PS2 emulator was a myth. The special parts a PS2 uses are too hard or damn near impossible to emulate.

But if anyone knows of one, I'm keen.
