| 157612 | 2003-07-05 01:37:00 | A friend of mine has a system running NT4 and it is coming up with the following error message...... The sytem cannot open Com1 port requested by the application. The name of the application is C2A.EXE A search of the Microsoft MSDN site suggested that the problem could be another application trying to use that comm port. Another article suggested that it could be an IRQ conflict with the port in question. I'm used to working with Windows 95, 98,ME and XP, NT is a bit of a mystery. Help!!!!! |

But your one seems to be trying to get the port by asking the system, which should be OK, but I don't know NT. :D (You could try running the application as Administrator). Check that there isn't a modem (or mouse) using COM1: . |
