| 157432 | 2003-07-04 10:18:00 | Ive been on using GAIM all night in Linux.. CyberChuck's been in and out.. If you're on Dial-Up, you may be having Time-Out issues.. How many contacts do you have? Try closing anything else that may be using your bandwidth and then connect.. when you're connected you can re-open up browser windows and what-not, its just that it receives the status of every person etc. and it can take a while on Dial-Up... They recommend a 33.6K modem, but if you have 150 odd contacts, you need a 56K modem if you're hoping to get signed in in a hurry... |

| 157433 | 2003-07-04 10:26:00 | It turned out Messenger wasn't even accessing the internet. I don't know why, but I saw the connection icon was showing "no activity". I tried disabling the firewall, tried closing and reopening Messenger, but nothing worked. Tried reconnecting (3 times), to no avail. A restart worked though :D |
