| 157419 | 2003-07-04 08:49:00 | a friend of mine installed Battlefield 1942 and then for some reason had to uninstall it (I dont' think it was working properly). He used the Add/Remove Software feature in the windows control panel to remove it. The problem is now when he tries to reinstall the game it looks like it is installing ok. When you start the game it plays the video sequence ok (a bit laggy but still ok), but then when it gets to the main menu the text is displayed as a box instead of each letter. Does anyone know what might have caused this? Would a clean uninstall help fix it? If so how do I do one to make sure I get rid of all the existing game before I reload it. Help - it was a present for his son's birthday, and he hasn't been able to play it yet. |

| 157422 | 2003-07-04 09:28:00 | i don't think so. its been ages since i saw the minium specs for the game but i have run the demo on my 1.4 t'bird GF3 512meg ram PC and it runs okish. i suspect the S3 graphics is actually onboard graphics which means its upgrade pc time. |

| 157424 | 2003-07-04 11:13:00 | Sometimes the game has trouble uninstalling the exe file and a few other files and folders. This could be the problem you cant kill them unless you use msdos (out-of-windows) or reboot the system with the bf folder in the recycle bin. | hamstar (4) | ||
