157830 2003-07-06 07:22:00 Hey Dudes
If you can get your mits on a Nero prog called InCd which I think comes with their s/ware packages, it is a beaut.
Allows you to use your re-write cds just like a floppy disk. very handy tool.
Cheers

157831 2003-07-06 07:52:00 why why why dos this post just scream out FLAME ME ! ! ! ]:)

But......i'll be nice ;-)

there was a new ver released last week however on my win98se system it caused havoc. cpu temp increased, couldn't shutdown down pc, problems restarting. had to go back to the old 3 series.

btw it only works cdrw's.

dosn't come bundled with all nero installs but its a small download from nero or your favorite mirror and is a free upgrade for all nero users.

157833 2003-07-06 08:49:00 Maybe tweak'es right. Incd doesnt seem to like Win98SE. The version that came bundled with Nero and a cd writer I bought about 2 years ago, maybe a little less caused nothing but lockups and errors, had to uninstal it. An update, 3.37 from Nero site was much better, but I prefer not to use it as Cd-Rs are so cheap anyway. Terry Porritt (14)
157834 2003-07-06 08:58:00 Adaptec's DirectCD is similar and works with cdr's as well as CDRWs, but I believe XP does the same thing anyway doesn't it? I believe its called a packet writer, but cd's written this way have to be "Finalised" or closed so that they can be read on other machines. andy (473)
157835 2003-07-06 09:02:00 I agree that it doesnt seem to like Win98, but it is still a useful application :-)

A slightly more descriptive Subject line wouldnt go amiss though...

157836 2003-07-06 09:03:00 Have never had any problems with InCD on my Windows 98 1st edition computer. Still using the version that came bundled with the CD writer nearly two years ago, along with the Nero software and all works well. One thing that I did do is remove InCD from Startup as it did appear to cause one or two conflicts but I do not remember what now. Starting it manually when needed works well. tommy (2826)
157837 2003-07-06 09:09:00 I just don't really see the point in packet writing. Much rather just burn what I want at once. -=JM=- (16)
