| 157804 | 2003-07-06 06:14:00 | I have finally upgraded to 5.1s. I have onboard 6channel audio and am using that to run the speakers. In order to use onboard sound I installed the drivers and software. Software used is AC97Audio. I have configured the program to run 5.1s, the front speakers go into the front speaker out, plugged the rear speakers to line in and the Centre and Sub into the mic. Everything goes except for the centre speaker, I took out the centre/sub plug and plugged it in the Front speaker port and it works. What is wrong with my pc? | INPHAMISTICS (3077) | ||

| 157807 | 2003-07-07 02:00:00 | hiya,im running the same sort of set-up.and my center sapeaker is like your's,very quiet. the reason being that most audio is in a 2-channel format,by enabling 5.1 it just splits it in half so we get a signel to 4 of the speakers. To get the center speaker working you need to be running something that is specificly encoded to send output to it. A DVD for instance,will do so(but probally only after enabling the 5.1 audio track on the dvd itself) If your running games,then check out the audio properties and choose eax,or surround sound or whatever else maybe there. While i do enjoy the the surround sound and sub,so far im underwhelmed by the centre speaker,playing mcm2 for instance,the only sound to come thru it is when i bail. |
