| 157968 | 2003-07-06 22:56:00 | Looking for a copy of QuickBooks Ver.5 or 5.5 to read back up files from a business I had 5 years ago. QuickBooks NZ or (Intuit the software designer) do not have copies of versions that old. Their suggestion is to buy the latest versions, retail $299, simply to read my backup files. Even the latest trial versions of the software from the PC World CD will not read the files. Is there another way? |

For another to upgrade from 5 to 7 you had to use a stand alone program to do the conversion so I am not sure how the conversion would go from 5 to 2000 or what ever the latest is now. |

| 157973 | 2003-07-08 08:26:00 | thanks for the offer of Quicken but as Mikebartnz said, it won't open Quickbooks files. For Mikebartnz, the $299 was for an upgrade version. Just out of interest though, for any queries on the Software one has to pay $35 per query from the distributor, and this they tell you on the answer phone, with a request to have your credit card ready. |
