157948 2003-07-06 11:43:00 Some time ago I installed a popup killer to protect against those annoying popups, but it was too efficient in that it killed all legit popups also. After uninstalling the popup killer, the problem still remains.

It seems more and more sites are using popups for forms, chat, BBS, etc, and they fail to work for me. This is the case for IE 5.5. Popups still work in Netscape, but then it becomes a variation in java scripting that causes the forms to fail.

Is there a registry setting that I can change to get the popups back correctly??

157949 2003-07-07 00:52:00 I tried Mozilla 1.3.1 and found it was great at stopping popups. I then installed ZoneAlarm and then I had problems. It seems that both Mozilla and ZoneAlarm were looking at the same thing and slowing things down. I then changed to Kerio Personal Firewall and the problem disappeared.

You may want to try Mozilla 1.4 or Netscape 7.1, which is based on Mozilla 1.4.

157950 2003-07-07 01:33:00 I have a program called pop up stopper companion which took 1 minute to download. It sits at the top of ie like a toolbar and it allows u to allow a site to display the pop up or not and also there's a button where u can delete cookies and temporary files.
netscape is also good.I haven't tried the latest mozilla though.
Opera seems quite good too

157951 2003-07-07 02:02:00 Suggest you take KiwiTT's advice - Netscape (latest version is best) doesn't interfere with your firewall, and it's pop-up settings are completely configurable. Added bonus is that you get a superior browser to IE. Greg S (201)
157952 2003-07-07 12:52:00 I find that Opera 7+ is great at controlling pop ups.
It has a setting, 'requested pop up windows only'
It does not interfere with forms or downloads.
