157741 2003-07-05 23:47:00 hi i was wondering if it was possible to use my sony cybershot digital camera as webcam? as i would like to see if it gives out better quality than my logitech quickcam?

the digital camera uses a usb cable to plug into computer...

I'll be interested in any answers as well!

157743 2003-07-06 01:51:00 Some camera's will work fine if they are designed to do both. My Fuji S602 works, but in a special webcam mode.

You need to realise that at full resolution you would never have the bandwidth to transmit the high quality images, unless it was 1 image every 10 seconds or so.

If you want streaming video, and all parties have full jetstream it would be OK. On dial-up, the limiting factor is bandwidth, and you cant have high quality.
