158130 2003-07-07 23:27:00 Ive got GAIM and KGet, mainly GAIM crashing on me... No error's or anything, just they disappear form the systray and notification area and that's it, gone..

Gaim is the latest, and KGet is the version that came with RH9. Ive updated libgtkspell which is the other dependancy for GAIM 0.64, so Im downloading the source for it now.

Any ideas what might be causing the apps to simply disappear?

Is there a log I should/could check?

Cheers

Chill.

158131 2003-07-08 04:52:00 As always: tail -20 /var/log/messages. Or before you start the problem applications, open a terminal and tail -f /var/log/messages. Graham L (2)
158132 2003-07-08 06:43:00 Try running them from a terminal window. It should print something there when it dies. Usually "segmentation fault". bmason (508)

. net/tracker/?group_id=235" target="_blank">sourceforge . net

The errors up top only occured after I enabled the Notification Plugin . . . Cant remember which part of it though?

Where to from here?

Cheers

158135 2003-07-08 13:15:00 Okay.. Im submitting the bug.. I guess I cant do anything but wait :-)

Perhaps its not GAIM at fault though if KGet crashed similarly.. I'll have to run that from a konsole also next time I need to download :-)

It could have been a fluke crash for KGet mind you.. ;-)

Cheers!

158136 2003-07-09 11:40:00 Have you been installing any updates lately (esp. any third party stuff)?

If its affecting multiple apps then it could be because you've replaced a shared libary with an incompatable version.

158137 2003-07-09 23:00:00 Ive been screwing round with WineX (2 and 3), but nothing else... not that I can think of at least?! Chilling_Silently (228)
