| 158523 | 2003-07-09 12:10:00 | I am getting really pissed off with XP Home. It runs so slowly , like when you go to the control panel the Icons come on one at a time as if I was on line. I have installed all Microsofts updates but there has been no improvement I have ME on the same machine & it is fast, reliable & a pleasure to use. CPU 1.7mhz 256 Ram. Swap file unlimited on a 8gb partition. So far, XP has been a waste of money. Any help appreciated. |

| 158524 | 2003-07-09 12:21:00 | You want to limit your swap file size to say a minimum of 512mb, and max of 512mb. That would stop windows playing with it when it should be working. Have you completely updated - like all the MS patches? I prefer an unpatched MS system - so much quicker. I'm not even running SP1. |
