Replace the disk & push any key. 0927286 kb ok, & El 301 We were playing games on this laptop, we shut down & this message appeared when we turned back on an hour later. Now we can't get in, could you please help me. It has a panasonic cd rom interface card, & a 56k modem intel pc card inside it. I've taken them out - Put them back in, still no go. Their's no floppy disc drive, & its not my laptop. |

| 159169 | 2003-07-12 21:48:00 | I hate to say this but if there is no floppy drive in the system then it would appear that the hard drive has failed or lost its boot sector. The only thing else I would try is make sure there is no cd disk in the CDROM drive just in case the Laptop is set to boot from the CDROM first. |

| 159170 | 2003-07-12 22:15:00 | I had somthing similar happen to me once. To fix the error I booted from a win98 bootdisk (If you don't have one got to www.bootdosk.com ) Once you have booted from the floppy, type the following command "fdisk (remove the quotes). IanJ |

If its only a month old (eg your friend got it new) take it back to the shop it was bought at and get them to fix it, it's probably quite simple to fix, and the laptop will still be under warranty.
