159635 2003-07-14 09:30:00 Hi Guys,

Am installing a 60 GB hard drive in my four year old HP computer with basic 6.4 GB hard drive as standard fitting

Intend using original HD drive a Back up with Win 98 and basic programs left as is, copying same to "D" drive for everyday use.

What is optimium number of partitions for 60G hard drive, and should I leave one for swap flie use ?

all comments appreciated

Pete

Optimum number of partitions for Win98 on that HDD is 1 primary & say 3 logical.

FAT32 can have some hassles with partitions over 40GB in size (machine & HDD dependant)
