| 159512 | 2003-07-14 01:04:00 | Does anyone know what the DPI settings of digital cameras are? I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-P72, and was wondering what the DPI rates of the photos I take are? For example, some publishing companies ask that photos you send to them by email, are at least 300DPI . I take my photos at 3 . 1MP rating - how do I find out what the DPI rates of my photos are? cheers, caffy |

| 159513 | 2003-07-14 01:20:00 | It depends on the print size - for example, if your image was 2048 x 1536 pixels, and you wanted a print size of 6" x 4.5", the DPI would be 2048/6 (or 1536/4.5) = 341 DPI. So look up the image size in pixels for your 3.1mp, and divide by the required picture dimensions. Note: not all picture sizes are the same aspect as the image, so check both dimensions. |
