| 1342831 | 2013-05-24 02:09:00 | Hi all, looking at buying a game console for the kids (7, 8, 11), and wondering whether the Wii U (Premium probably) is worth looking at? We're primarily PC users, haven't had a console for years (had an old Xbox original until it stopped working), but the kids loved playing on their cousins Wii when they visited from Oz a year or so ago, and now pretend to play the games as they watch youtube videos others have recorded :D thought it might be a nice treat, but not sure whether to go with something new, or just pick up an older console off trademe. So should I look at an original Wii, or go for the Wii U (or Xbox 360 or PS3)? Not going to look at the new xbox one or ps4. Pros & cons? Cheers, Mike. |

I had heard/read somewhere that it'd play the old Wii games, but not the remotes etc.? Maybe I misunderstood? Was leaning towards Wii/Wii U rather than 360/ps3 as someone had told me there's better selection for the younger kids. Not sure if this is true. Cheers, Mike. |

The games are definitely better played with a friend, as opposed to by yourself. That's not to say they suck if you're on your own, but just a *lot* more fun if you've got somebody there with you. And yeah there's definitely a good selection for kids and things :) |

| 1342839 | 2013-05-24 11:13:00 | Nup it's fine to buy second-hand off TradeMe :) Most of our Wii games are from the EBGames "Trade n Save" type of thing! | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
