1317732 2012-12-11 07:50:00 +1 Just another Y2K ;)
There was a certain amount of truth to the Y2K though. It was largely averted through a lot of programming.

1317734 2012-12-11 18:09:00 Hilarious.

People should backup every week, regardless of nutter claims of planetary influence on the internet.

But still, at least people will have backups! Then again, who would back up on a flash drive? Couldn't even back up my Word docs onto a 4gb drive :p

What if I told you, you can get flash drives bigger than 4GB?

There was a lot of people making a lot of money that night.

Right at the moment, the only negative thing thats happened today was the bowl on the blender got a chip out of it this morning, and that's nothing to do with the date. :)

My dad, who was a COBOL programmer among other things, made a MINT out of Y2K (banks, airlines), then retired...

There was one business I dealt with and I told him all he had to do on the Y2K turnover was to set the bios clock but someone else came along and told him he needed a new PC so he bought one when he didn't need to.
So yeah a lot of people made a lot of money on the hype from the news media and a lot of people didn't really know what they were talking about when it came to it.

I seem to remember Cobol was one of the worst culprits.
