1317305 2012-12-10 00:05:00 I have always thought that there is little difference between Noel Leeming and Bond and Bond. They used to be side by side in Invercargill. Now they have moved to new sites which are close to each other. NL does give Flybuys. Bobh (5192)
1317306 2012-12-10 00:18:00 NL and BanB are the same company. Warehouse have them both now....

And what's wrong with that? So Warehouse want to be more upmarket, so said the new CEO.

As for NL and BandB, so they sell appliances, where do you guys buy your washing machines and fridges then? Harvey Normans?

Same products.....

1317307 2012-12-10 00:29:00 But 95% of their products are made in China...

Most consumer products in the world are made in China.

My point is that any profits will go to a New Zealand company
They will employ New Zealand managers
They will probably use New Zealand companies to do their advertising and promotion
If they give any money to charity it will go to New Zealand charities.

Every country needs to keep its overseas funds, otherwise we will end up like Greece, being told what to do by the IMF etc.

Yes they used to be next to each other here in Tauranga. Seemed crazy to me.

And in Nelson but then they closed B & B and just had NL appliances in one shop and NL Tech in the other

And by New Zealand managers you mean Chinese immigrants?

Nah I get what you mean though. I guess it's a bit better than having the whole thing owned by an offshore company.

Cheers for that.

They might even set up a New Zealand IT department.
They will also have a New Zealand head office that will rent office space and need cleaners etc.

1317312 2012-12-10 06:16:00 So now we can expect the Warehouses Transonic rubbish in Bond & Bond and Noel Leeming stores as well.

If they exploit their size to bring us quality products at a good price, then great. But the example from TWH so far is to bring us electronic garbage that isn't even fit for sale.

1317313 2012-12-10 06:41:00 No. They are going to let NL run under its own identity, with the same NL management. The same as The Warehouse which will run under its own identity as well by The Warehouse management.
:)

1317314 2012-12-10 09:16:00 Will NL's complaints dept continue to generate more complaints than they tackle? Let's leave resolving complaints until April 1. R2x1 (4628)
