If you want to start out, get some parts and hire the compressor, usually you can get one for about $50-$80 for a day, have a look around hire places. That way there is minimal bank damage should it not work out (rather than having a $600 compressor that you can't use laying around) I'd recommend (from my own not so hot experience) getting an old door panel from a wreckers or elsewhere to practice on. That way you can test your wet sanding, priming and gloss coating techniques without making your existing machine look like a dogs brekky. Then some hunters cruising the suburbs might really not like it and shoot it thinking it's some terrible monster :D This looks OK from trademe www.trademe.co.nz although I have no feedback/recommendations to place on that particular item. I think it would be good to start out with though. |

You also want a good dust free environment with no breeze. Make sure you flair out any sanding which goes down to bare metal. The first car I painted I made the mistake of not doing so and it wasn't until the last gloss coats that it showed up. Luckily it wasn't too bad though. |

On asking the irishman "what the hell was going on?" he got the answer..."after painting the porsche, oi had just enough paint left over to slap a coat on the Rolls as well" Ken :devil |
