159866 2003-07-15 22:59:00 Yes, I agree that there is a problem with the FAQs taking so long to load. It is obviously because they are buried in the archives.

A lot of those FAQs need rewriting anyway to incorporate the suggestions and remove all the unnecessary posts. Unless Bruce has some other nifty trick to fix it rewriting/reposting them is one way to speed things up a bit.

159867 2003-07-15 23:10:00 It wouldn't be so bad if Microsoft had bothered to actually tell peope that it had done it, in plain no nonsence terms. Or they could have made it ask if you wanted this feature activated as you apply the update instead of simply enabling it and then leaving uses floundering around like a fish out of water. 159868 2003-07-15 23:10:00 There must be some way to get around the problem, rewriting would only be a temporary fix and then the problem would occur again.

The old ones take so long to load that before I realized what was happening I just gave up thinking they were down.

Anyone new would not wait the time required to load some of the old FAQ's and and the time and effort that has gone into them would be largely wasted.
