2003-07-18 09:23:00 | I've just been loading Win XP Pro on to a PC and during the load it comes up with the amazing statement of "The fastest Windows ever - loads faster than any previous version of Windows". Sorry, have I missed something, are my pc's different to Microsofts. Mine are the complete opposite; its the slowest windows ever (on the same hardware). Has the Microsoft marketing department been on the reality bending drugs. Can Microsoft claim what they like in the marketing material. If anyone from Microsoft is reading this, please explain how they achieved this.

2003-07-18 12:43:00 | Ive noticed a "fresh" install boots faster than Win2K would on my Athlon XP system. However.. I too agree with the previous comments..

2003-07-18 12:51:00 | It does have the fastest boot and shutdown times IF: 1) You don't install any ms windows updates (except DX9) 2) You change the way users log on/off. By that I mean, disabling the slow welcome screen and disabling fast user switching. WinXp + Sp1 = one slow, bloated dog (regardless of any fixes issued.)

2003-07-18 13:17:00 | I still run 98 SE and prefer it to my bloated XP on my 2nd PC withuut any service packs | kiwibeat (304) | |
2003-07-18 13:23:00 | 98 on modern hardware shutsdown instantly, and boots within a few seconds. Think i might time how long my rig takes with xp.

2003-07-18 13:24:00 | Sorry I have to disagree about MS bending the truth. MS can't bend the truth because they don't know what truth is. However they do on many many occasions attempt to Straighten out their Lies :D
