160577 2003-07-17 13:22:00 Hiya

I have a friend who has broadband. I was surprised as he is no where like a computer geek.

So I checked one of the Singapore's sites. A prime one like Telecom NZ. Singtel has unlimited dial-up for $104SG and broadband unlimited for $55SG 256k or $75SG 512k. Incredible ehh? Was told cable tv and broadband are standards that come with a lot of the properties..

160578 2003-07-17 21:17:00 It works differently all over. A friend of mine lives in Singapore and just spent S$120,000 on a new mini!
The place is tiny, the housing very intensive. Running cable 100m picks up thousands of homes and businesses. Don't forget that companies like HP and Cisco have factories there, multiple factories.
Our costs are okay, depending on your ISP.

160580 2003-07-17 21:42:00 It would be nice for our Jet stream starter to be 256k like the rest of the world. Warren (875)

Too right godfather
As much as i like being 3 times faster than dial up i would like the speed to increase a bit .
In Australia broardband starts at 256k..but then the data level is capped lower than ours
