| 160617 | 2003-07-17 20:07:00 | go to start ...run type in "msconfig" warning keep away from the services tab in that utility. also check your startup folder in start...programs..startup sometimes programs use that also. if you what to identify some of those startup items in msconfig do a search on in google on startup programs, there are many good sites that give advice on this subject |

| 160618 | 2003-07-17 21:10:00 | Are you sure they are not just shortcuts on the taskbar? Right-click the taskbar on an empty space and then go to Toolbars and see if any of them are selected. Just click on one to unselect it if it is. |

| 160619 | 2003-07-17 23:08:00 | The first thing you need to do is identify what the programs are. Either hover your mouse over them or right-click them to get their name and write down what it says. If you are lucky you may be able to right-click them and find an option in a menu to disable at startup. If not go into each program identified and in their Tools or Options look for an option to disable "run at startup" or something like that. If all that fails go to Start > Run and type in msconfig. Depending on which version of Windows you have go to the Startup tab and look at the items listed in there. Check them out with the list at Pacs-Portal (www.pacs-portal.co.uk ) to see whether they can or should be disabled (remove the tick to stop them starting up). |
