| 161107 | 2003-07-19 09:34:00 | I assume you have researched this on Google, but in case thats not right, look at this link (www.kellys-korner-xp.com) There is a ton of info on Google re this. Apparently the error message can be misleading, and not always related to such a .dll file, but to an incorrect boot.ini file? |

| 161108 | 2003-07-19 09:44:00 | hi godfather, yeah I have researched this on google and first thing i came accross was this article buat all info I can find requires a recovery cd or an img replace, ent neither of which I have I have accessed the boot.ini file but cannot determine if it is corrupt or not, as i said earlier not to hot on xp. might just have to nuke the lot and take it back to winme. unless you or anyone else has any other ideas. | zip1nz (2251) | ||

| 161110 | 2003-07-19 11:42:00 | no sorry godfather it is xp from new and has been running ok until now. I only have the knowledge and software to bring it back to winme after a total repartion and format. dont have original xp cd and from what I have heard I dont want to muck round with a copy. If there was an easy way to fix the problem and keep xp I would but dont seem to be able to find one. system is HP 2 gig, 256mb ram 40gig hd winxp works, encarta etc has hp scanner, printer and logitech web cam running ok until now mostly used for internet and email anything else i can tell you ?? |

| 161111 | 2003-07-19 11:48:00 | Sounds like a "brand name" PC, and is it possible that there is no restore CD, as its on a hidden partition on the HDD? If so, check the documentation as there should be a simple method to reload XP at boot-up. While I have not had experience of this type of restore system, I understand it works fine. F10 at boot-up time? |
