161171 2003-07-19 11:52:00 you are not dumb and nor do you deserve the dumb label.
the only deserving label of dumb is the person who nominated you as dumb.
You are very intelligent just for asking a question. And do not feel put off by one persons bad attitude.
And you can ask me any question you like any time and i will never even think of you as dumb. And i am by no means brainy.
we all have to start somewhere

161172 2003-07-19 11:58:00 My crystal ball is for hire....

And many PDA's still come bundled with stand-alone copies of Outlook.

Life was never meant to be that easy, as if the people knew enough about what to post, chances are they wouldn't need to post?

Would be nice to get more info, and its a refreshing change when its given. I am certain it leads to better and quicker resolution.

161174 2003-07-19 12:04:00 I see your point Elephant, the only problem is,what you have just asked for will only be read by readers today,so, no point in getting frustrated with what may happen tomorrow,is there?
Classic case, someone will ask abour digi cams,we get answers for about 3 days, which says it all,2 days later someone asks what digi cam should I buy.Pretty obvious even to me that that is the way it must be.
As for Dumb Bell,I can say without fear of contadiction, there is no one here that doesn't take pleasure in helping you out,so it's not you,it's the way the format goes,so lift your head and know we are with you till the end;)

161175 2003-07-19 12:05:00 Correct.... It was your post who made me think that it would be better if people asking for help would give more info in the first post but your post was nowhere near the first that started me on this train of thought.

Personally. I believe that I am the one causing a problem with MY post.

After all you made your post and I answered it to the best of my ability and had no idea what you were trying to do and then decided to try and help everyone help themselves a little more.

I'm NOT frustrated and you aren't stupid. Can we agree on that?

If you look more at this thread you will see I explain more.

If I have hurt you then I apologise.

Agreed... How do you think us regular posters got to know what we do?
Its not like the matrix where we simply "know" it after two seconds of our eyes rolling in our heads ;-)

161177 2003-07-19 12:11:00 this is quite funny :
its gone from insult to beginer.
helping to not helping.
saying its your fault to mine.
then to buying the wrong beer.
now to my fault to yours.
It is good to see so many cool people in only this little world(NZ).

161178 2003-07-19 12:14:00 Let us all blame Microsoft for pretending, or getting people to believe, that computers and the Windows operating system are entirely intuitive and easy to use straight off, first time :)

Once upon a time decent manuals were supplied with the OS for DOS and Windows 3.x

Fact is, it is all pretty pretty difficult and esoteric, but having said that, I wish people would spend just that extra amount when they buy a computer, to get a good book or books so that they can read up about things.
