161050 2003-07-20 09:08:00 Hi

Thanks for the detailed explanation, yes the connection is definetly a "Neo block" as it has the logo and does have mini "door" in front of it, is there any way telecom would do this for free?, if not are there any safety risks I should know about if I follow your procedure. Also can you actually get rid of the Neo block? I do have a 2 wire jack elsewhere in the house as I stated in the first post, does this mean my house has been converted to a 2 wire system, meaning i could put 2 wire jacks anywhere in the house even with the Neo block?

161051 2003-07-20 09:21:00 Telecom will only do this for free if there was a fault in the wiring and if you had a maintenance contract. If you already have two wire jacks in the house then you can run a wire from one of them to the new location. Again, use the center terminals on each side of the block at both ends of the cable. If the neo block is still live you will need to leave it there. An easy way to find this is to stick your tongue,,,, Nah just kidding, just disconnect one of the white wires and see if the other jackpoints work, If they do, you wont need it, of course if they don't then you will need to reconnect that white wire. Line voltage is only 50volts DC so it is safe to handle unless it rings which is about 80volts AC, still safe but might bite a bit. (For comparison Household power is 240volts and that hurts!) sinndisco (4059)
