| 161661 | 2003-07-20 23:13:00 | I have loaded Debian OS on a old laptop and could not get X Windows to run so now I want to co back to windows 98 but when I boot from the windows CD-ROM, format the HDD, load the OS and reboot Linuxs tries to boot up not windows How do I remove the Lunix OS completely from the HDD? |

| 161662 | 2003-07-20 23:46:00 | From your W98 CD you should* be able to do FDISK /MBR. The Linux boot manager is loaded into that area of the disk. It looks as if Windows only loads the MBR automatically if the partition/disk has just been created. * I don't know that W98's FDISK still has this option ... if it doesn't, a W95 or DOS5 (up) FDISK will. |
